How to Operate
Why is the batter not flowing into the unit?
Solid mix-ins can prevent the batter from properly flowing into the waffle maker, and are not recommended. If you are not using mix-ins and are still having issues with the batter not flowing properly, add a tablespoon of water or milk and try again. The target consistency or thickness for batter to flow properly is similar to pancake batter.
How do I turn on or off the waffle maker? (preheat)
To turn on the power, turn the Shade Select dial to the right to select a shade. The indicator light will illuminate red, signaling the unit is preheating. To turn off the waffle maker, rotate the Shade Select dial all the way to the left, to the Off position.
How do I know if the waffle maker is on?
When the unit is powered on, the indicator lights will be illuminated either green or red. The unit will immediately start preheating to the selected shade.
What do the indicator lights signal?
The indicator lights are used to show the current status of the waffle maker. The RED indicator light means the waffle maker is either preheating or cooking. The GREEN indicator light means either the unit is ready for batter to be poured in, or that the waffle has finished cooking.
What are the safe touchpoints?
The exterior of the unit will get hot during the cooking cycle. To avoid burns, until the unit has cooled completely, only touch the handle, the Shade Selection dial, and the base of the unit.
Never touch the batter pour spout unless the unit is powered off and has cooled completely.

Cooking Questions
Can I use mix-ins?
Solid mix-ins can prevent batter from properly flowing into the waffle maker and are not recommended.
How much batter should I use?
The amount of batter needed will vary depending on the type of batter used. For best results, try making waffles with different amounts of batter. Start by filling the portion cup to the minimum fill line (3/4 cups) the first time, then add more batter, if needed (up to one cup) for the next batch.
The batter will not initially fill the entire cavity of the waffle maker. During the cooking cycle, the batter will rise. Do not pour more than 1 cup of batter into the waffle maker at one time.
Why is my waffle unevenly cooked?
Batter that is too thick can trap air, creating uneven results. Add a tablespoon of water to the batter to thin it out, then try again.
Can you make half a waffle?
The minimum amount of batter that will activate the cook timer is half a cup. If you use less then half a cup, the timer will not run. However, it will cook the batter until you remove the waffle.
What size are the waffles?
The waffles are 5.9 inches on each side.
